How this practice handles personal information, and what this website does and does not collect.

Who this covers
Lawlor is the business of Matthew Lawlor, ABN 93 930 619 071, based on the Gold Coast, Queensland. In this policy, “we” and “this practice” mean that business. You can reach us at hello@lawlor.au about anything on this page.
We handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What this website collects
Very little, by design. This site sets no cookies, loads no advertising or tracking pixels, and has no forms. Nothing you do on this site is recorded against you, and there is no profile of your visit.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, so we can see which pages are read. It sets no cookies and does not identify you or follow you across sites. For each page view it records the page, the page you came from, your browser, device type and country, and how quickly the page loaded, and it reports these to us only as totals. It is the only script on this site that comes from anyone other than us; the others are our own: they animate the page and take off tenders that have closed since the list was updated.
The links on the tender and grant listings that ask whether to bid or whether you are eligible open an email in your own mail program, with the listing's details already written in. Nothing is sent until you send it, and what you send is handled like any other email to us.
The site is served by Cloudflare. As with any web host, Cloudflare’s servers automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request, in order to deliver the site and protect it from attack and abuse. We do not use that information to identify you or build a profile.
The “Book a free discovery call” buttons open our booking page on Cal.com, a scheduling service. What you enter there (your name, email address and anything you add about the call) goes to Cal.com and to us, to arrange the call, and Cal.com handles it under its own privacy policy. Every other contact link opens your own email program. Booking or emailing is your choice, and they are the only ways this site leads to us holding information about you.
What we collect when you get in touch
If you email us or book a call, we hold what you choose to send: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, your business details, and whatever you tell us about your situation. We use it to reply, to prepare a proposal, and to do the work if you engage us.
What we handle during an engagement
Consulting work means looking at how a business actually runs, so an engagement usually involves commercially sensitive records: financials, pricing, processes, systems, customer and supplier information, and information about staff. We treat all of it as confidential and use it only for the engagement it was provided for.
Where those records contain personal information about your staff or your customers, you remain responsible for having the authority to share it with us. We will handle it confidentially, keep it only as long as we need it, and return or delete it on request.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share your information with anyone for marketing. We disclose it only in three situations: when you have asked us to, to the service providers we use to run this practice, such as email, file storage and accounting software, and where the law requires it.
Some of those providers store data on servers outside Australia. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to use providers that handle information to a comparable standard.
Keeping it, and getting rid of it
We keep records for as long as the engagement and our legal and tax obligations require, and then dispose of them. We take reasonable steps to protect what we hold, including access controls and reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that puts your information at real risk of harm.
Seeing it and correcting it
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email hello@lawlor.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for asking.
If you are not happy
Tell us first, at hello@lawlor.au, and we will work it through with you. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can take a privacy complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes to how we handle information will not be applied retrospectively without telling you.
