Terms of use
The terms you accept by using this website, and the boundaries of the work this practice does.
Last updated 27 September 2026
Who you are dealing with
This site is operated by Lawlor, the business of Matthew Lawlor, ABN 93 930 619 071, Gold Coast, Queensland. Using this site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
These terms are not the engagement
This page governs your use of the website only. Consulting work is governed by a separate written proposal or agreement covering scope, fees, timing and confidentiality, agreed before the work starts. Where that document and this page disagree, that document wins.
What is on this site is general information
Everything published here, including any articles, videos or research, is general information about business practice. It is not advice for your circumstances. Your business has details we do not know, and the right answer usually depends on them. Do not act on general information alone where the decision matters. Ask, and we can look at your actual situation.
What this practice does not do
Some work is regulated and sits outside this practice. We are not a registered tax agent and do not provide tax agent services. We do not perform audits. We are not licensed to give financial product or investment advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to acquire or dispose of any financial product. We do not provide insolvency advice or legal advice.
The work sits alongside your accountant, bookkeeper, lawyer and licensed advisers rather than in place of them, and part of doing it well is telling you when a question belongs to one of them.
Results
Any figures, examples or case studies on this site describe what happened in a particular business at a particular time. They are not a promise of what will happen in yours. Where a figure is illustrative rather than measured, it says so.
Content and ownership
The content of this site, including text, design, images and the frameworks described, belongs to Lawlor unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to read it, quote it with attribution, and link to it. You may not reproduce it in bulk, republish it as your own, or use it to build a competing offering, without written permission.
Links to other sites
Where this site links somewhere else, that is for convenience. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information.
Availability
We aim to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it is free of errors or always reachable, and we may change or remove content at any time.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Those rights stand regardless of anything written here.
Beyond those rights, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of this website or from reliance on the general information published on it. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the relevant information or service, or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
Privacy
How personal information is handled is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated, with the current version always on this page and dated at the top. Questions go to hello@lawlor.au.
